Wednesday 16th November 2005 Tribeca Launches Badugi Network
The Tribeca Tables Poker Network has announced the launch of a new game called Badugi Poker.
With most online poker operators still focusing on Texas Hold'em and Omaha, Tribeca sees a niche in the market for introducing Badugi as it is a very popular poker game gaining ground in the off-line world.
Steve Cook, from Tribeca Tables, said: 'Badugi Poker is a game of skill. Sometimes it is not immediately obvious that a player has a strong hand in Badugi. Because a lot of players will be new to Badugi, it is going to offer a level playing field. Everyone will have a chance!'
Mike Caro, known as 'The Mad Genius of Poker' added: 'The first time I played Badugi, my pulse was racing and that's unusual for me. This poker game is aggravating, exciting, exasperating, and exhilarating.'
Badugi is a triple draw lowball variety of poker. Each player is dealt 4 cards and they must make their lowest possible hand over 3 draws. You exchange higher rank cards with the dealer for lower cards if possible. It is a lowball game where Ace is low and therefore the best possible hand is A234 in all different suits.
