Monday 23rd January 2006 New Poker Radio Programme to Debut on TalkSport
In conjunction with InterPoker, TalkSport will be premiering its brand new poker programme on Friday, January 20 at 10pm. The poker radio series will feature interviews with leading poker players, hot tips on how to play and a guide to poker terms. The programme will also include a live phone-in where listeners can ask the experts for advice. Each show will include a focus on a different topic. The first few are ‘tricks of the trade’, ‘celebrity’ poker, ‘new to poker’ and ‘woman in poker’.
Laura Botton of TalkSport said of the new radio programme, “We have run a number of poker competitions and advertorials in the past but given the recent change in regulations and the increasingly popularity of poker we felt the time was right to provide our listeners with more detailed information and access to the experts for answers to questions.”
InterPoker spokesperson Peter Marcus was equally upbeat. “The poker phenomenon is continuing and our recent research shows that players and would-be players are wanting more information and advice on how to play. The aim of this radio feature and live phone-in, one of the first’s for radio, is to provide this,” he said.
