Caesars Palace Opens Luxurious New Poker Room

LAS VEGAS – December 21, 2005 – Caesars Palace announced today the opening of a new world-class poker room. Stylized to the supreme standards of the rest of the resort and structured to satisfy the world’s top poker aficionados, the Caesars Palace poker room will provide a phenomenal poker experience to both the seasoned professional as well as newcomers. The new Caesars Palace poker room, located next to the resort’s famous Race & Sports Book, features 30 live tables offering a selection of the most popular games including Texas Hold’em, Seven-Card Stud and Omaha, a game rising in popularity around the world. Caesars Palace last featured a poker room for its guests in 1989.

“We are very excited to debut the Caesars Palace poker room especially considering poker’s incredible rise in popularity over the past few years,” said Gary Selesner, Caesars Palace president. “With customer satisfaction as our top priority, it was important for us to create a comfortable atmosphere and impressive service for both the high-stakes professional and the recreational poker players, and we believe we have accomplished that goal.”

Players entering the beautiful space will be greeted by 11 original LeRoy Neiman paintings that showcase nearly 40 years of Caesars Palace history. Other distinguishing factors of the Caesars Palace poker room will be its spaciousness, overall comfort and quality of professional staff.

Players at Caesars Palace will notice more space between tables than at any other poker room in town. More than 20 large-screen high-definition TV sets adorn the walls. An extensive menu and dedicated cocktail service allow players to have food and beverage delivered directly to the tables during play. Players also will appreciate the experience of World Series of Poker-tested professional dealers. Competitive poker room rates apply to guests of the hotel.

In addition to the remarkable 8,500 square-foot main poker room, Caesars Palace is one of the only casinos in Las Vegas to also offer an adjoining tournament area, providing an additional 6,000 square feet of playing space and 33 tournament tables. The tournament area will play home to a number of contests providing players the opportunity to win entries into World Series of Poker events.

“Poker tournaments are typically played within the main poker room, meaning standard poker play is compromised or cancelled altogether to make room for tournaments,” Selesner said. “Adding the additional 6,000 square feet of space for tournament play means guests at Caesars Palace will always be welcome for a game of poker.”

Scheduling has commenced for both daily and weekly tournaments, as well as several intercontinental tournaments, including the internationally televised World Series of Poker Circuit Event which will be played in April and broadcast on ESPN, and the Heads Up Poker Championship which will be played in March and broadcast on NBC.
