The simple fact is that you were never going to be able to buy your way onto the red carpet for Oscar night. Hosted by four-time NASCAR champion Jeff Gordon, the event is aimed at helping disadvantaged families across the United States. As well as a smattering of pro poker players, including Chris “Jesus” Ferguson and Robert Williamson III, there will be a slew of celebrities including NASCAR star Tony Stewart, former NFL star George Rogers and actors Eddie Mekka and Jason Hervey. The $1,000 buy-in will not only earn you the chance to win a load of cash but also the opportunity for a seat on the World Series of Poker 2006 worth $10,000. But even if you miss out on the top prizes, there’s still the chance to humiliate some celebrities and get yourself in the tabloids as well.
