They may have lost out on a massive sponsorship deal with Manchester United, but Mansion is continuing to battle through 2006. The online poker site has announced a new version of its software that is said to give players one of the most realistic experiences on net. Although it is not yet ready for real play, it can be downloaded for free so that newcomers can get in as much practice as possible before the real thing launches later this year.
Mansion hope that this will help bolster their profits and global image after a disastrous set of talks with Manchester United left them red-faced. The site claimed they had already closed a shirt sponsorship deal, only to discover the soccer team had gone with a different company. Similarly, their deal with Fox over the Vegas ‘Poker Dome’ is still up in the air after legislators said it could be illegal unless they front up the cash for a hotel and full casino. In the meantime, the new software should keep them in the headlines.
