Tuesday 29th August 2006 Large Field to Fight for $500,000 at the 888.com UK Open
888.com has announced that the UK Open 2006 poker tournament will kick off on September 25, running through to October 8 with a huge field of online qualifiers battling for their share of the $500,000 prize pool.
The competition, which launched in 2004 and will this year be held in Maidstone, will also be broadcast on Challenge TV at 23:00 in the UK.
Mike Herea, Promotions Department Manager for 888.com, said that the event will be a great chance for players to take part in a major tournament. “In the UK Open 2006, our online poker players will have the opportunity to play real live high-class poker, meet great poker pros and take part in one of the most high action tournaments in Europe,” he said.
'I had a wonderful time and everyone there was extremely friendly,” said Ron Hubble, about the 2005 event, having scooped $50,000 at the competition. “I appreciate everything everyone did to make my stay an enjoyable and memorable one.”
