Tuesday 18th July 2006 Absolute Poker Launches Summer Internship and Freeroll
Absolute Poker, the world’s fourth largest online poker website, has released a new website which reports the behind-the-scenes stories and photo diaries of the company’s seven interns.
The interns, based at Absolute Poker’s Costa Rican headquarters, are now in their second month on the job. The program provides ambitious, college-aged students with the chance to work in the industry with real jobs, all while living in paradise. The most successful interns may then be offered full-time employment with Absolute Poker.
The high standard of the current cohort has even surprised internship director Benjamin James. “The interns weren’t expecting to be living in a mansion and going to the beach every weekend, and I wasn’t really expecting such an able workforce,” he said. “Two of the interns even made the new PokerInternships.com site!”
The program has already proven to be so successful that Absolute Poker is offering additional internships making the program quarterly and a new freeroll competition called “Bust the Interns” has been added in which players are invited to go head-to-head against the gutsy students.
