Poker Reaches Highest Ever Rank on Search Engine List

Global Internet group and search engine, Lycos, has announced that, for the week ending June 12, the term ‘poker’ was number seven in its fifty most popular searches, its highest ever ranking. It’s a true testament to the immense popularity of the sport that, for one week, poker was the seventh most interesting thing in the universe to the global population; almost as interesting as Britney Spears.

The most popular poker-related searches included ‘World Series of Poker’, ‘online poker research’, ‘poker lessons’, ‘video poker’, ‘world poker tour’, ‘poker betting tips’ and ‘Texas hold'em poker’.

The most popular search was ‘Ronald Reagan’ following the late president’s funeral that week.
